Four Factors to Successful Marketing
Okay, let's make this simple. There are four major factors to a successful marketing strategy. They are credibility, visibility, accessibility and proficiency. That being said, let's take a quick look at each one of these factors.
Credibility: We live in a society that values trust. We appreciate the company of people who are honest and foster positive relationships with people of integrity. We buy products from companies that have worked hard to earn our trust. We continue to use services because of the loyalty that has been built through trustworthy relationships. For this reason, trust must be the cornerstone of every relationship.
Visibility: The old adage "Out of sight; out of mind" has never been truer than it is today. Our current lives are inundated with distractions, commitments and stresses, therefore, very little of what we experience remains in the forefront of our minds. That being the case, it is important to continually remind your audience of your existence and the benefits of your product/service.
Accessibility: Consumers live in a world where they expect instant access to your business. They want to speak to a human being on the other end of the phone line or, at least, have an opportunity to leave a phone message. I'm always amazed when I hear that businesses don't have phone mail services or forget to empty their phone mailboxes. Imagine the frustration of going to a website just to find the site is not active or pages are missing because of broken links. The list of potential roadblocks goes on and on. In this competitive economy, the last thing you want to do is lose a customer because they couldn't reach you. Make sure that you make it easy for them to access your business or they'll go somewhere else in a heartbeat.
Proficiency: If you've done the first three correctly, here's your chance to prove your worth. "Be the best that you can be" is not only a great slogan, but a great reminder that your business is expected to make good on its claims. Pick an area that your business will excel in and make it your strength. And, most importantly, never compromise your proficiency.
